Winners of the ETC-CIFFT Video Competition announced

The European Travel Commission is pleased to announce the winners of the ETC-CIFFT Video Competition, awarding best promotional tourism videos from ETC members – National Tourism Organisations (NTOs) of Europe.

The competition included tourism videos in two categories:

  • Social responsibility and value of tourism/COVID-19: videos created in light of the COVID-19 pandemic which raise awareness of the value of tourism and its social impact and/or appeal to people to support the industry during this crisis.
  • Country Promotion Videos: promotional tourism videos showcasing European destinations.

A total of 18 videos from 12 different European tourism boards were submitted and evaluated by the expert jury comprising professionals from the tourism, audio-visual, and marketing sectors.

 

Winners of the competition 

1st place ‘Time to #stayhome. Turn to nature and dream.’ Slovenia (Social responsibility and value of tourism/COVID-19 category)

 

2nd placeDiscover the colors you never knew existedLithuania (Country promotion category)

 

3rd place‘Much more than “just” Denmark’ Denmark (Social responsibility and value of tourism/COVID-19 category)

 

The winners will compete at the Grand Prix CIFFT Circuit 2021 for the title of the World’s Best Tourism Film, with the entry fee sponsored by ETC and CIFFT. The circuit is the most prestigious awards and recognition initiative in the travel video marketing industry. The competition brings together tourism film festivals from 4 continents and provides an excellent opportunity to increase the participating brands’ reach and notoriety. ETC congratulates the winners and wishes the best of luck going forward in the CIFFT circuit!

 

Jury members

Tim Fairhurst, Secretary General, European Tourism Association (ETOA): Tim’s work includes destination engagement and policy from EU to city-hall, specialising in multi-stakeholder collaboration. Current priorities include tourism’s place in Europe’s sustainable recovery plans. Previously he worked in the inbound educational and cultural travel sector. He studied in France, Ireland and the UK, and trained as a lawyer and mediator.

Cat Leaver, Director Brand Scotland: A marketing and strategy specialist, Cat Leaver, is the director of Brand Scotland, including the responsibility for managing brand image, digital infrastructure and talent development. Previously, Cat worked with major clients such as the BBC at award-winning digital agency After Digital.

Ringaile Leščinskiene, Executive Producer: Ringaile is a Lithuanian producer more than ten years of experience, working in Georgia and Lithuania, cooperating with major international agencies and clients. She has produced over 100 commercial video projects, ten TV series, and three short films.

Terry Savage, Consultant, Founder of Savages Unlimited: Terry was formerly Chairman of Cannes Lions, the leading Festival of Creativity in the world in the brand communications space, as well as Chairman of Val Morgan, a Cinema Sales house. He currently sits on the Advisory Exec of the World Food Program and runs his own consultancy.
