Exquisite architecture lovers alert: Kambra
Kambra is "a pretty stone house with a garden, located in the village Pliskovica on the Karst Plateau in Slovenia." A perfect retreat for all who search for something unique and serene.
Not far from the Adriatic sea, in the village of Pliskovica, and not yet discovered by many people, Kambra sits within a series of pleasant hills accented by small villages and vineyards. Here, the climate is Mediterranean and the landscape rocky and dry, covered only by endless stretches of vine and pine tree forests.
Once an old abandoned barn, featuring an enclosed garden, which is said to be more than 400 years old, was converted into a unique living space with all technological and spatial commodities for contemporary living. The name of the place kambra is the local vernacular word for a multi/purpose room in the ground floor of the traditional Karst house.
The house has won several architectural prizes, thanks to its stylish exterior and interior design and it is also one of the few places which are listed on the popular Urlaubsarchitectur website, which features only the best examples of architecture, which can also be rented.
