Ljubljana Fashion Week: round table discussion on sustainability
On Tuesday, 12 April, a round table entitled The Future Begins Now on the topic of internalizing sustainable principles in the field of fashion and tourism was held in Velana as part of the Ljubljana Fashion Week.
The five speakers presented the diverse sustainable ways, approaches and strategies they implement in fashion design, education, production of sustainable materials and tourism. Barbara Zmrzlikar, Head of Research at the Department of Research, Development, Innovation and European Projects, also spoke on behalf of the STB.
This is the 13th edition of the Ljubljana Fashion Week, which, in addition to fashion shows, also features the exhibition entitled The Future Begins Now, showcasing 10 domestic and foreign designers who respond to the environmentally harmful effects of the fashion industry and textile production by introducing innovative solutions.
The event is also attended by 9 foreign journalist from renowned international media, including Forbes, Kaltblut and Schon. In addition to attending fashion shows, a press trip of Ljubljana as part of celebrating the 150th anniversary of the birth of Jože Plečnik was organised.
